About Our Curriculum
The Creative Curriculum
Our learning center uses the creative curriculum where activities are based on the child's chronological age. This allows adaptations for individual variations in interest, development, and experience. Our lessons are developed so that children can engage in activities and interactions of their own preference while providing adult support when needed individually or as a group.
Overview
The characteristics of our learning environment include welcoming children and families and providing quality and appropriate educational materials. We promote children's independence by allowing them to find, use, and return the materials independently.
Our staff encourages different types of play and allows children to move through the areas of the classroom. This enables them to extend their play by bringing materials from one area to another. We provide materials that reflect the diversity of each child. The physical space of our classroom is organized into interest areas, such as the following:

The creative curriculum responds to children's learning styles, strengths, and interests. It translates research from the field of early childhood education into a practical approach to working with children and their families. This curriculum has a particular focus on interest areas.
There are 10 indoor interest areas and outdoor spaces that create various opportunities for children to learn. These interest areas provide children with a setting to learn academic content and apply skills.
We have carefully selected materials in each area to reflect children's interests and developmental levels.
We understand that it is important to have different real items that are relevant to each child’s life. For example: cooking tools, small appliances that no longer work, dress-up clothes, and more. These items reflect your child’s home culture and allow them to imitate adults. With help from the creative curriculum, your child will achieve social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development.
